Dr. Willem Grobler

Dr. Willem Grobler is an experienced manufacturing and technology expert with over 27 years of international experience in the automotive and battery industries, including at V4Smart, AESC, Fisker and the BMW Group.
At V4Smart, he is responsible for production technology, automation and AI initiatives for the electrode and cell manufacturing of lithium-ion batteries. Previously, as Director of Quality for Europe at AESC, he oversaw quality at two gigafactories in the UK and France for customers such as Renault, Nissan and Jaguar Land Rover. At Fisker, he oversaw the production ramp-up of the Fisker Ocean as well as the establishment of the after-sales network.
His more than 17-year career at BMW included global project management for the X3/X4 programs, the industrialization of plants worldwide and the implementation of digital factory concepts.
